Cheetah • Elephant • Giraffe • Herd Animals • Hyena & Jackal Leopard • Lion • Rhino & Hippo Lion Photographs in KenyaWe saw lions in both Samburu and Masai Mara. In Samburu we only saw three, relatively lazy male lions. The only really interesting thing they did was to become instantly attentive when one of the trucks got stuck. When the driver of the stuck truck cracked the door, the lions immediately stood up, and the driver immediately shut the door. We used our truck to block the line of sight between the lions and the other vehicle. Eventually a herd of Impala came by and while the lions were watching the Impala, they quickly pushed the other truck out. The pictures below were all taken in Masai Mara. It was our last game drive and we came upon a pride of lions as the sun was starting to go down. At first we only saw 4 or 5 lions, but as we got closer we scared several more out of the grass. Although scared is not really the right word. They didn't move until the truck almost ran over them and then they sauntered out onto the rock with the rest of the pride. As the sun went down we got excellent lighting for the following shots. It was the perfect finale for the trip.
